Ancient Wisdom for Modern Ignorance
The high Vedic culture of direct experience is inaccessable to the modern victim of Western Civilization, so wedded is he to empiricism. Swami Tripurari, while experiencing the fruits of Vedic culture in his heart, is yet willing to compromise it by couching it in the Western intellectual terms of empiricism. This small book can do wonders in unlocking some of the deep potential of Vedic practices and world view to the Western seeker. My primary disappointment with the book is in his very important chapter, The Case For Continence. He sheds very little light on the practice of continence for the female. Much is written on the importance and practice of sexual continence for males. Writing on female continence is neglected to the point of secrecy. Some is mentioned here on female continence, but as usual, much more is written on male continence. TABLE OF CONTENTS Social Paradigm
